7.2 Magnitude Hit the Western Region of Haiti
Our hearts are breaking for the people of Haiti. Unfortunately, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake has hit the western region of Haiti, killing thousands and leaving tens of thousands homeless. Les Cayes, where we focus our work was among the hardest hit.
Here is what we know- most of the volunteers we work with in Les Cayes, the children, and our host families have lost their homes. Complicating the relief efforts on the ground is the recent downpour from tropical storm Grace and the continued aftershocks being felt throughout the region.
Supporting the relief and rebuilding efforts is absolutely vital. The Moving Haiti Forward will be on the ground end of September and beginning of November to render medical aid, and provide food, water and basic living supplies. The beautiful people we serve and love may have lost their homes, but they won't lose us. We hope you never tire from keeping Haiti in your prayers and thank you for your financial support.
UPDATE!
With your support we successfully completed our first impact trip rendering basic supplies and food to 300 families. Click here for our brief video recap from our October trip!
Current donations will go to support our mobile medical clinic in December and helping 50 families with their rebuilding efforts and our school meal program. If you missed our "Updates from the Heart of Haiti" follow this link for more on our recent and continued work.
